These workshops are designed help you correct your posture and are an ideal long-term correction & maintenance program after osteopathic treatment.
Exercise and regular stretching can maintain benefits after osteopathic treatment by keeping muscles supple and joints flexible and hopefully prevent future injuries and therefore visits for more treatments. In this workshop / class Christian Bates will analyse and measure each persons spinal curves and flexibility and create a specific stretching routine for them as an individual. These exercises can then be done at home to correct specific postural problems. For maximum benefits Pilates lessons etc. can be continued throughout the week.
Let's have a look at an example of the individual benefits. The curve in the low back or lumbar spine can be "flat" or "deep". A flat curve predisposes to disc bulge problems and a deep curve can lead to more arthritic patterns. A deep curve will need flexion type exercises to help balance the curve whereas a flat spine curve will need extension exercise to increase the curve. Basically these two patterns of curve need completely the opposite exercises to help them.
